Our Goals

Our primary interest here at Jess-El is brown miniature poodles. We do believe, however, that including quality blacks in our breeding program is beneficial to the overall quality of our dogs, therefore we will concentrate on breeding both brown and black miniature poodles.

Sound structure and temperament as well as good health are essential in any dog, and this is what Jess-El strives for in our poodles. Naturally we also aim for a typey poodle that exemplifies the breed standard and shows both the elegance and and intelligence that our breed is famous for.

Jess-El poodles participate in many other activities besides the breed ring. They compete in obedience and rally, train for agility and working tests and have participated in an animal-assisted therapy program. Soon we will be giving tracking a try. And of course our dogs are also beloved family pets. Poodles are a wonderfully versatile breed and excel at so much more than the show ring!

Jessica is a dog trainer and CGC Evaluator as well as a former professional groomer and has worked with dogs since she was a teenager. Dogs are her passion. She is a member of the Central Carolina Poodle Club, Catawba Valley Obedience Club and Charlotte Dog Training Club. Elwood is the other half of Jess-El, his chief jobs being to spoil the dogs and to build our agility equipment.

Our goal here at Jess-El is to produce poodles that can do it all and are equally at home in the breed ring, participating in performance activities and as a family pet.
